Tampa Sol and FSAD Bombers capture SEAAD Title

Southeast Athletic Association of the Deaf (SEAAD) held 78th Annual Men’s and 34th Annual Women’s Regional Basketball Tournament at Warner Robins, GA on March 20-22, 2025.

SEAAD hosted 10 Men and 7 Women team over the weekend, Women’s tournament kicked off with first round games, 1st seeded SWAAD Taz rests in bye, 4th seeded newcomer Hoop Dreams defeated 5th seeded Lady Buzz City 40-37, 3rd seeded Lady Honey Bees fell to 6th seeded Tampa Sol by score of 71-37, 2nd seeded Lady Marlins lost to 7th seeded Dreamers 41-35, in the loser side of bracket Lady Buzz City lost to Lady Marlins by score of 28-6, to move on to 5th place game against Lady Honey Bees and defeated them to capture 5th place finish. Semifinals game saw action with top seeded SWAAD Taz handling Hoop Dreams 59-41 to reach to champion game berth, Tampa Sol faced off with Dreamers and roamed over them with score of 65-15 to reach to champion berth, 3rd place game between Dreamers and Hoop Dreams saw that Hoop Dreams had good game plan and won over Dreamers to capture 3rd place finish. Champion game saw action with SWAAD Taz facing Tampa Sol, they were no match to Sol’s energy and fell to them by score of 106-42 to capture their SEAAD Women title.

Men’s tournament kicked off on Thursday evening with 8th seeded St. Augustine Hoplites facing 9th seeded ATL Hawks, Hawks overcame a victory over Hoplites by score of 67-56, 7th seeded Southern Copperheads fell to 10th seeded Orlando City Knights 70-46. Friday games action kicked off with top seeded and NDBO defeating champion SE Hoopstars roamed over ATL Hawks 80-42, 4th seeded Florida Spartans defeated 5th seeded NC Flights 74-48, 2nd seeded FSAD Bombers smothered Orlando City Knights 89-33, Newcomer 6th seeded Gorilla upset 3rd seeded Georgia Bulldogs 62-58 in a heated match. Consolation bracket saw action with Hoplites escaping with a win defeating Bulldogs 36-35, NC Flights defeated S Copperheads by score of 43-36, next round of consolation Orlando City Knights defeated Hoplites 43-41 in a close game, ATL Hawks handled NC Flight beating them 37-23, Orlando City Knights defeated ATL Hawks to capture 5th place finish.

Semifinal game saw action with heated match up with Hoopstars and Spartans, with short staffed on Hoopstars roster, they escaped a 58-54 win over Spartans to return to champion game berth, Bombers handled uprising Gorilla team by score of 76-46 to return back to champion berth, 3rd place game saw action with Florida Spartans defeating Gorilla to capture 3rd place finish. Champion game between Bombers and Hoopstars kicked off with Bombers finding a way to defeat Hoopstars by score of 68-55 to capture SEAAD title.
