Eastern Athletic Association of the Deaf held 76th Annual Men’s and 31st Annual Women’s Region Basketball Tournament in Willingboro, NJ on March 7-9, 2024.
EAAD hosted over the weekend with 11 Men team and 2 Women teams, on Friday Women’s tournament started off with Round Robin, 2 teams has forfeited resulting to 2 women teams to compete, Eastern Storm faced with Lady Liberty twice in resulting Eastern Storm defeating Lady Liberty 63-26, in the second game Eastern Storm defeated Lady Liberty 64-19.
Saturday Women’s Champion Game concluded with Eastern Storm had no issue handling Lady Liberty by score of 65-26 capturing the EAAD Champion.
Men’s tournament kicked off on Thursday evening with first round action, #9 Nor’Eastern Warriors defeated #8 Nighthawks 77-32, #5 Gotham City moved on due to #12 No Limit Ballerz forfeit, Defeating EAAD Champion #11 DMV Diplomats handled #6 Rochester Venom 83-59, #7 Northeast Dynamite defeated #10 Philadelphia Hustle 53-43.
Friday action started off with 2nd round games, #4 District City 95ers manhandled #5 Gotham City 69-41, #2 DC Elite Hoyas the 2023 NDBO National Champion defeated #7 Northeast Dynamite 83-59, #1 seeded Matrix newcomer team, defeated #9 Nor’Eastern Warriors 88-66, #11 DMV defeated #3 SCID Magic 81-48.
Semi-Finals games kicked off with #4 District City 95ers escaped win by defeat of #1 Matrix by score of 83-79, #11 DMV manhandled #2 DC Elite Hoyas 82-69
Consolation Champion game concluded with #6 Rochester Venom beating #7 Northeast Dynamite by score of 89-66 to give Venom the EAAD Consolation Champ
3rd place game concluded with #1 Matrix squeaked victory over #2 DC Elite Hoyas by score of 90-86
Champion game concluded with #11 DMV Diplomats smothered #4 District City 95ers with score of 81-55 giving DMV Diplomats their EAAD Champion.
