Farwest Athletic Association of the Deaf held 76th Annual Men’s and Women’s Region Basketball tournament in Tucson, AZ on March 8-10, 2024
FAAD hosted over the weekend with 8 Men Teams and 2 Women teams, however 2 Women Teams had to forfeit.
Saturday Men’s Tournament kicked off with first round action, #8 Arizona Desert Fire (AZDF) upset #1 Gatos 57-34, #7 DSA upset #2 Sonics by score of 97-73, #5 The Black Mamba handled #4 Phoenix Blaze by score of 60-21, #6 Underdogs upset #3 Los Luganeros 69-51.
Second round Action with Semi-Finals Game #7 DSA escaped over #6 Underdogs with high score of 122-93, other Semi-Final game between #8 AZDF and #5 The Black Mamba game was cancelled over the bench clearing brawl which forced both teams forfeit sending #2 Sonics to champion game facing #7 DSA.
5th place game concluded with #3 Los Luganeros defeating over #4 Phoenix Blaze 37-25
3rd place was given to #2 Sonics due to no team to face for the game (Sonics faced DSA for champion game considering that #6 Underdogs gets 2nd place).
Champion game concluded with #7 DSA returning to FAAD Champion by defeating over #2 Sonics by score of 90-74 to give DSA FAAD Title.
