Southeast Athletic Association of the Deaf held 77th Annual Men’s and 33rd Annual Women’s Region Basketball Tournament in Charlotte, NC on March 7-9, 2024 host by SWAAD Taz and NC Flights.
SEAAD hosted over the weekend with 10 Men teams and 7 Women teams, on Friday Women’s Tournament kicked off with first round games, #5 Lady Honey Bees defeated #3 Lady Buzz City 58-33, #7 Lady Marlins upset #2 Atlanta Shooting Stars by score of 60-53, #6 SWAAD Taz moved to next round by forfeit of #4 Tampa Sol.
On Saturday, second round of Women’s tournament came into Semi-Final games, SEAAD Defending Champion #1 Vice City blew by #5 Lady Honey Bees by score of 49-12, #6 SWAAD Taz ran with victory over #7 Lady Marlins 86-51.
5th place game concluded with #2 Atlanta Shooting Stars capturing win over #3 Lady Buzz City
3rd place game concluded with #7 Lady Marlins over #5 Lady Honey Bees
Women’s Champion Game saw action between #1 Vice City and #6 SWAAD Taz resulting in a Vice City winning back to back champion for SEAAD.
Men’s Tournament kicked off on Friday with first round action, #8 Southern Copperheads “A” defeated #9 NC Flights 59-46, #10 Orlando City Knights defeated #7 Atlanta Hawks 62-53. Second round concluded with #4 Georgia Bulldogs defeated #5 PR Power 90-63, #3 Florida Spartans manhandled #6 Southern Copperheads “B” 79-23, SEAAD Defending champion #1 SE Hoopstars handled #8 Southern Copperheads “A” 98-58, #2 FSAD Bombers handled #10 Orlando City Knights 78-29.
5th Place game concluded with #5 PR Power defeating #9 NC Flights
3rd place game saw action between #4 Georgia Bulldogs winning over #3 Florida Spartans
Men’s Champion game rematch with #1 SE Hoopstars facing #2 FSAD Bombers once again, game started off wire to wire to the end forcing Overtime match concluded with Hoopstars escaping a 81-77 victory earing them back to back SEAAD Champion.
