Northwest Yellow Jackets and The Bay capture NWADB Title

Northwest Athletic Deaf Basketball (NWADB) held the 71st Annual Men’s and 34th Annual Women’s Regional Basketball Tournament on March 12-14, 2026, at Fremont, California.

NWADB hosted 10 Men and 4 Women teams over the weekend, Women’s Tournament kicked off with round robin games The Bay defeated Pacific Ladies 68-11, Utah Mountaineers steamrolled over Desert Storm 80-32, The Bay defeated Desert Storm 69-32, Utah Mountaineers rolled over Pacific Ladies 108-21, final round robin game saw action with Desert Storm defeat Pacific ladies 40-24, The Bay narrowly beat Utah Mountaineers 70-65 in a heat game that set up the champion bracket between both of them, 3rd place game saw Desert Storm defeat Pacific Ladies 46-35 earning Desert Storm 3rd place finish. The Champion game saw action between The Bay and Utah Mountaineers. The Bay was prepped, ready, and took over the Mountaineers with a score of 70-49 to earn The Bay NWADB Women’s Champion.

The men’s tournament kicked off with 1st round games, with #8 Grumpy Old Men losing to #9 Utah Warriors 76-51, #10 Oregon rolled over #7 Sactown 76-26. 2nd round saw top teams in action #3 Northwest Black Jackets lost to #6 BACD 59-49, #4 Utah Blizzard defeated #5 Bay Area Knights 75-53, #2 PNW Loud My Name steamrolled #10 Oregon 86-47, and Defeating NWADB Champion #1 Northwestern Yellow Jackets smothered #9 Utah Warriors 109-35 in first game. Quarterfinals game saw action with #1 NW Yellow Jackets defeat #4 Utah Blizzard 97-50, #2 PNW Loud My Name handled #6 BACD 75-54. Semi-final game saw action with NW Yellow Jackets easily handled PNW Loud My Name 93-67, sending PNW to the double elimination bracket where Loud My Name has come back defeating Utah Warriors 84-66 to earn Chamion berth with Yellow Jackets. 3rd place finish goes with Utah Warriors, 5th Place game saw BACD beating Utah Blizzard 77-48 to earn 5th place finish. The Champion game saw action with Northwest Yellow Jacket rolling over PNW Loud My name 94-68 to earn NWADB Champion.
